The Promise of the Holy Spirit

February 24, 2008

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said,  out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”  But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.   John 7:37-38

If anyone thirst……..

The world offers us broken cisterns, disappointment and despair, but Christ and His Word brings healing, hope and true strength.  Bring every concern to Him in prayer, in repentance, trust Him to forgive you and cleanse you, and offer yourself to Him in obedience.

Come to Me and drink…..

Respond to His invitation with trust and obedience and your need will turn into spiritual vitality and strength.

He who believes in Me…….  out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.

The Witness Of Christ

February 2, 2008

John 5:31-44

:31″If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true. :32 There is Another Who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true.  :33 You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth.  :34 Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved.  :35 he was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.  :36 but I HAVE A GREATER WITNESS than John’s; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish - THE VERY WORKS THAT I DOBEAR WITNESS of Me that the Father has sent Me.  :37 And THE FATHER HIMSELF, Who sent Me, HAS TESTIFIED of Me.  You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.  :38 but you do not have His Word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe.  :39 You search THE SCRIPTURES, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which TESTIFY of Me.  :40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.  :41 I do not receive honor from men.  :42 But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.  :43 I have come in My Father’s Name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.  :44 How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?

Prayer For Today

February 1, 2008

Dear Heavenly Father,

May Your Name be honored and respected in our relationships with family, friends and enemies.  Please forgive the sins and offenses committed against us and lead those who have trespassed against us into the truth of Jesus.  Forgive us for attitudes, words and actions that have grieved Your Holy Spirit.  Bless everyone who hungers and thirst after righteousness.     In the Name of Jesus the Messiah I pray.

The Type Of Worship The Father Seeks

February 1, 2008

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.  God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”      John 4:23-24

Many of us have a busy schedule and sometimes rush through this verse without pondering it’s meaning towards our personal lives.  We, at times, can assume that we know this verse and it’s meaning without allowing the Holy Spirit  to show us the areas of our lives where we are not worshiping in spirit and truth.  Some wrong assumptions of worship are…

- that our Heavenly Father is only to be worshipped in a building

- that our conversations are not considered worship

- that one does not have to honor the commands of Christ as long as one goes to a 501.c3

etc….

No matter the reasoning, the result from false worship is barrenness.  God calls us and is seeking true worshippers.
